Charleston, Oregon
Charleston Oregon 97420

The harbor of Charleston Oregon is located about eight miles from downtown Coos Bay. The city is not incorporated and is the home to a vast commercial fishing fleet. The city also has many seafood processors. A visit to the city offers fishing, crabbing, and clamming. Just to the south is Sunset Bay, Cape Arago, and Shore Acres State Parks. The South Slough National Estuary also located in Charleston offers visitors the ability to study the tides and also marine life. The city, although small, has plenty of places to visit and a choice of places to stay. There is a public boat ramp (not sure of the charge) and plenty of places to dock most any type of ship. The streets are lined with commercial crab baskets, netting, small snack shops and quite a few very nice, touristy type shops.
