Eagle
Creek is the name of a post office as well as of a stream. There are many streams of the same name in the state. A.
C. Cogswell, postmaster at Eagle Creek in 1925, wrote the
compiler that the place was called Eagle Creek as early
as 1844 and that the name originated with Native Americans because
there were so many eagles along the stream. Eagle Creek
post office was established on August 26, 1867, with Philip
Foster as postmaster.
